My name is Kat and my goal is to provide a safe space where BIPOC and other marginalized adults (18+) feel seen, supported, and heard. I am committed to helping people embrace vulnerability as they journey to discover their authentic self and shed those false identities imposed by society. I aim to be a stable source of support and positive energy, wherever the journey leads us. With intention and openness, healing is absolutely possible.

I am an experienced professional equipped to help clients to overcome challenges related to depression, grief/loss, anxiety, stress, trauma, sexual identity, and self-esteem. I use mindfulness and trauma-informed therapy to help process thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. And, for those especially challenging moments, my therapy dog Bisky is also a big help!

You are in control of your own story – not your past or current life’s circumstances. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you take control of your own narrative. My approach is compassionate, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. If you think we’d be a good fit, please reach out for a consultation or intake session today!

Co-Occurring Disorders - Personality Disorders - Emotion Regulation

Life is hard. We live in a world of uncertainties, which collectively have caused us to all feel emotions and fears that are hard to explain. And while we understand that humanity is suffering, it is also vital to address the individuality within that collective unit. Each of us have our own unique struggles. It is my belief that every person deserves to have a safe space to process their own emotions. As a counselor I am called to serve and work within my community to create an environment that allows for all people to feel seen, heard, and validated. I have experience working with adults, teenagers, and young children.
Despite the difficulties that may be present in your life, we can work together to encourage development of sustainable skills and healthy outcomes. My goal as a clinician is not to “fix” anyone or any problem, but rather to encourage insight and awareness on how to be the healthiest version of who a person is created to be.

When you take that first step of calling to schedule the appointment, those always feel like the hardest steps. I am here to meet you where you are. Whether that is in the depths of your battle with depression, feeling uncomfortable in your own skin, or learning how to express your feelings and dealing with the triggers that inevitably come with trauma. My job is to walk beside you on the journey to healing, provide you with tools to make you the hero in your own story and support your continued growth. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work From Western Michigan University.

Cultural Identity, Generational Trauma, Racial Trauma, Interpersonal Relationships, Self-Esteem and Self-Worth, Anxiety and Depression.

There are two things that I have learned about therapy over the years as both a client and a therapist:

1) Therapy takes “work”! This “work” looks different for folx because we are on our unique journeys- this is okay!

2) Healing is not linear. Meaning, you may experience a range of feelings, thoughts, and reactions on your healing journey- this is okay!

Whether you are interested in delving deeper into yourself, exploring past and present experiences, just want to talk, etc., I am here to support you along the way.

My name is Jaedah and I am deeply committed to supporting my community’s mental health well-being. I am passionate about serving Black, Indigenous, and people of color.

If you allow me to be a part of your personal journey, together, we can foster an emotionally safe space that promotes vulnerability and encourages you to bring your authentic self.
